Gloria Guerricabeitia Vaught Mikel Chertudi and Julian Achabal Gooding, Idaho 29 May 2002 |

|
Gloria was born on 11 November 1938 in Shoshone, Idaho, to
Andres Guerricabeitia and Pilar Bilbao. Her father came to America
from Bizkaia, and he met Pilar at a boarding house dance. After the
couple was married, they started a sheep business with a few partners.
Gloria remembers growing up in the rural Basque atmosphere of sheep camps
and ranches. After graduating from high school in 1958, Gloria studied business in Salt Lake City before working in a Boise office. She soon met her husband, Philip, a non-Basque who quickly immersed himself in the culture. The couple was married in 1962, and has raised four children. Today, Gloria loves attending Basque cultural events with her family. She has traveled to Europe and Japan, and made her first trip to the Basque Country in 2002. She is a proud member of the Gooding Basque Association, and hopes to learn some Euskera over the coming years.
